Meet the Mid-State Leadership Team
Jim Dodson
Before initiating the first purchase of stock in Mid-State Industrial from his parents in 1974, he had finished college and gained experience working at Mack Truck as a Mechanic. Jim enjoys traveling with his wife Debbie and attending University of Oregon Ducks games.
Debbie Dodson
A fixture in Mid-State Industrial since the mid-70s, Debbie is the Office Manager and handles the administrative functions for the business. Married to Jim since 1973, the couple have two daughters and four grandchildren. They enjoy traveling in their free time.
Our History
Family Owned Since 1970
In 1970, Mid-State Industrial operated one Air Sweeper and several ride-on sweepers. We had two employees and serviced only parking lots from Cottage Grove to Woodburn. Within a year the ride on sweepers were gone, replaced by more efficient truck mounted regenerative air sweepers. In 1980 the first Super Sucker Vacuum Loader was added to the fleet for industrial cleaning jobs. In 1983 the first Camel Jet/Vac was brought in to clean drain lines and catch basins. We have been improving our equipment and adding to our services ever since. In 1996 Mid-State Industrial made another big change when Jim and Debbie Dodson bought out Mary and Fred Dodson’s stock in the company.
Our company philosophy is that good business depends on good decisions. Each day we strive to do what is best for our customers and our team — it’s the core of everything we do. Today, we run a 24/7 operation with over twenty four sweepers and vacuum trucks that are available for contracts throughout the state of Oregon. We provide complete sweeping services including parking lots, driveways, streets, construction sites, highway areas, and more. Our vacuum trucks provide environmental, industrial and construction services including storm water catch basin cleaning, drain line cleaning, potholing( Physical utility locates) and vacuum excavation along with industrial vacuuming, wet or dry materials.

Mid-State Industrial Service was one of the first twenty Certified Sweeping companies in the US. To become certified, companies must pass strict criteria set by the North American Power Sweeping Association (NAPSA). NAPSA has a formalized process for certifying sweeping businesses that includes an application requiring businesses to adhere to strict guidelines related to safety, experience, continuing education, maintenance, training, and a professional code of ethics.
